![]() ![]() My favorite part is that it is super easy and quick to use. Mask AI is awesome for complicated cutouts, like busy tree branches and such. Again, it won't fix a super blurry cell phone photo - start with something that is decent.Ĥ. JPEG to Raw AI I found to be good for taking well-lit point and shoot camera shots and make them higher quality, more like DSLR. I found it really shines with landscapes and macro flowers, that sort of thing.ģ. It is good with noise suppression, too, but works best in conjunction with DeNoise AI (use that one first or all your noise will be sharpened, too). (It's not going to save super blurry shots though - you have to start with a decent photo). It can stabilize those slightly-out-of-focus photos to make them a much better quality photo. Detail AND noise removal! I am a heavy Photoshop and Lightroom user and neither of those can do this like Topaz can.Ģ. This software gets rid of the noise, but not just that - it somehow knows what details to preserve so that it doesn't turn into a plastic pile of mush. I am often in indoor, low-light situations so I have to use a high ISO in my photography a lot. Specifically about Topaz DeNoise AI, it is pretty miraculous. DeNoise for me is a lifesaver for animal photos in lower light situations. Maybe a little less convenient to have to jump around to different apps, but it's undeniable that they can do things that other, more all-inclusive apps cannot. I'm guessing they are all separate, dedicated apps for one thing because they want to make sure to do that one thing extremely well. Particularly with DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, JPEG to RAW AI and Mask AI, they are fantastic at what they do. Instead I still have to use version 2.2.4.Comments: Overall, I really love this brand. 1 year of upgrades more than 1 year ago and for the reasons described (halos, pixels shifts ) I can NOT use any of the upgrades 3.X included in the purchase price. I wonder meanwhile if they offer existing customers a bug-free Topaz Sharpen AI version only after the 1 year of free upgrades is over? Selling a sharpening software that is not able to sharpen images correctly because it creates halos and pixels shifts is an absolute NOGO in my eyes! Shortcuts in tooltips are white instead of grey to be consistent with menu itemsĪdded auto detect option to processor preferenceĬhanged the “Disable Model Downloads” preference into “Allow Model Downloads”įixed jump when zooming in on small images from 0.5įixed downloading models being disabled regardless of preference Windows: Online | Full (Win 10) | Full Legacy (Win 7/8) I still have not tried it on many images yet.Īm I right that if you use the masking tool, then the AI computes the corrections differently, based on just the area that is being done, and not on the whole image? If so, it would be interesting to find out whether if you have an image where only part of it is blurred (the back end of the bird is in focus, but its head is moving), is is possible to mask off the sharp bits of the bird, and have SAI correct the blurred bit? Maybe something to try at some point. Of course, I should add that I was using it to retrieve a terribly blurred photo, and though the result looks a bit oversharpened with either V3 or V2, it is amazing what the software has been able to do. I started with an image where I was convinced that v2 was better, but on another image V3 seemed better, so because V3 clearly has advantages, notably speed and I like the interface better, I think I will start with that, keeping V2 in reserve for those images where V3 does not produce the results I want. The key seems to be to get the FULL installer and not the online version, because that gives you the option of where to install the app and the resources it uses. ![]() ![]() I have at last managed to install V3 and V2 alongside each other. ![]()
